Meet #3 Review and Results

Tigershark Parents,

Nice job by our swimmers today.  We are struggling with "first-year" 7-10 yr old swimmers on breast and fly.  We will continue to work hard to get those strokes better mastered.

Thanks to all of our parents that volunteered today.  I know some of our volunteers  were brand new to the jobs and we had some organizational struggles, but we did survive the day.

We did a much better job after the relays were over to make sure our swimmers got to their races on time, in the right lanes, most of the time.

Please read the information below, as I am on the "bully-pulpit" to see if we can get off to a better start with relays at our last two meets.

*If you are a volunteer parent in charge of an age group, (especially ages 7 to 10) we NEED you to arrive by 1:40 pm at the very latest, as we need you to help mark our swimmer's arms BEFORE we begin warm-up at 2:00 pm.

***I will do a much better job of separating and directing our 7&8's and 9&10's, boys and girls, to the proper parent volunteers to organize for relays right after warm-up at 2:25 pm.

Our 6&unders are showing up well organized for their relays and we should hope our 7&8's and 9&10's are as organized. It was a pretty rough today, missing three of our 9 & 10 relays.

There should be two parent volunteers for the following:

7&8 girls    2 parent volunteers

7&8 boys   2 parent volunteers

9&10 girls   2 parent volunteers

9&10 boys  2 parent volunteers

I will assign two of our Assistant coaches to work under the bleachers, to direct all of the 11 & over swimmers to their proper places, relays and individual races, on time.

In addition, if you sign up your swimmer for the meet, and we use those sign-ups to assign the relays, NO SHOWS wreck our preparation and make it very difficult for the age group parent volunteers to organize the relays.

Please, if you sign up, show up.....

Finally, our Tigershark Assistant coaches will be fully engaged at the far end in helping to make sure all of our relays and individuals get to their proper places on time for Meets 4 & 5.

Reminder, we have practice tomorrow, then "Friday Fun Day" this Friday, then no practice Monday July 3rd or Tuesday July 4th, resuming regular practices on Thursday July 6th, with Meet #4 on Wednesday July 12th.

Thanks again for all of our Parent Volunteers and we enjoyed seeing our Tigershark  swimmers race today.
