Every morning from the end of the school year until the middle of July, the Timarron Bent Creek Pool is alive with young swimmers from our Timarron Neighborhoods. Over 280 of these young swimmers, ages 5 to 17, learn the basics of competitive swimming and get the chance to represent the Timarron Tigersharks Swim Team in competition at the Southridge Lakes Neighborhood pool. Our Tigershark Program even survived on a 1/2 full basis during the COVID Summer of 2020 without a single problem
From the Summer of 2006 to 2018, Sonia Leonard, a Southlake resident and full time real estate agent, sponsored and directed the Timarron Tigersharks seeing it grow from 70 to over 280 swimmers. In 2019 Ms. Leonard turned over the reigns of the Program to Head Coach Kevin Murphy, who intends to continue the tradition of serving the Timarron Tigershark families with the best Summer Swim Team experience in Southlake.
Coach Kevin Murphy, Head Coach for the Southlake Carroll High School Men's Swim Team, is also the Head Coach for the Timarron Tigersharks and staffs his coaching team with current and former HS and college-age assistant coaches from among his former HS All-American and All-State Carroll Dragon High School swimmers.
In conjunction with learn-to-swim lessons at the Bent Creek Pool, hundreds of youngsters from Timarron, Southlake and surrounding areas, have had the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of improving their swimming and learning to work and compete in this great sport, America’s #1 Olympic Sport. Some of our Tigershark kids say “it is the most fun they have ever had at the pool!” and a number of former Timarron Tigershark swimmers have gone on to be state-ranked age group swimmers, Varsity and JV Carroll Dragon swimmers, HS All-American Swimmers, State Champions and NCAA College Swimmers.
Our Tigershark swimmers compete at the Southridge Lakes Neighborhood pool with the Southridge Lakes Barracudas on five Wednesday mornings in the Summer. We are looking forward to introducing competitive swimming to a new group of young swimmers, along with improving the swimming of those Tigershark swimmers returning for another Summer of FUN in the sun, learning and racing at the pool.
2026 Swim Team Fees:
- $265/first child
- $235/ per additional child
- Non-Timarron resident: $35 additional per child
