School year CISD swimming options @ Carroll Aquatic Center

Tigershark Parents,

I have had a number of email request for information about continuing swimming during this coming school year.

I reached out to my Dragon HS Assistant Swim coach, Paul Wallace, for information about the Dragon Stroke Team, that operates at the Carroll Aquatic Center as a Carroll ISD Program.  Dragon Stoke Team is similar to our own Timarron Tigersharks.  I do believe there is an upper limit on ages of participants.  I believe you must be 11 yrs old or younger to be on the Dragon Stroke Team.  See the information link at the bottom of this email on the Dragon Stroke Team.

Also, for some of our more advanced, and/or faster, 12 & under Tigershark swimmers, there is NTN, North Texas Nadadores.  For information on that part of the Carroll Aquatic Center Programming during the school year, contact Audrey Cormack the Head Coach of NTN.  [email protected]

Thanks so much, it was a pleasure teaching and coaching your swimmers at Timarron this Summer.  Dragon Stoke Team info below......

Coach Murphy

From Paul Wallace, Director, Dragon Stroke Team

We will be hosting Dragon Stroke Team assessments on September 3rd- 6th and September 9th- 11th, at the Southridge Lakes outdoor pool on 1709 across the street from the Carroll Aquatic Center.  *The Carroll Aquatic Center will be closed for renovation until early October.

The Dragon Stroke Team requirements will be

1x 25 Freestyle
1x 25 Backstroke
1x 25 Breaststroke kick
1x 25 Dolphin kick

We will be looking for proper technique in all of the disciplines above.

If they do not qualify for DST, then the swimmers will be referred to Dragon Swim Academy which will begin in October once the pool re-opens after renovations are complete.
