Meet #2
Parents and Tigershark Swimmers,
Nice job today at Meet #2, especially by the volunteers that helped to line up the relays and the ladies that ran the ready bench for the 7-10 yr olds and the 6 & unders.
Medley relays are a little more confusing, so GREAT JOB by all getting those done. Free relays again next week.
We have plenty of work to do on the Fly and Breast to make those swims "legal", especially two-hand touches and staying on our back to the finish on backstroke.
Our coaches did a good job lining the kids up at the 25 yard start end....very few missed events. I have the results in a thick set of papers that I will bring in the morning to post by the bulletin board.
One thing I would like to see our 11 to 17 yr olds do better: Pick up their trash when they are done with their swimming! Our older kids left a mess that myself, Mrs Walser and three of the older boys had to clean up in the bleachers after the meet.
I do not have the final scores yet, but hope to have them from the meet host tomorrow for posting by Friday morning. The meet host believes that our Tigersharks Team did win the meet, but I like to wait to see it in print in the final results before celebrating.
Ribbons for the first two meets are due to be delivered to the Carroll Aquatic Center on Monday and our ribbon/award volunteer ladies intend to get them labeled on Tuesday for delivery on Thursday or Friday next week at practice. Hoping it goes smoothly.
Meet #3 entries are open, as are the "volunteer slots. We had 169 swimmers at the meet and hope to encourage EVERYONE available to come and compete in the meets. I know it can be a little intimidating to some of our kids, but once the swimmer "breaks the ice" and does their first meet, then it is not so scary after that.
***We will only use the "volunteer" slots that are reserved on the Timarrontigersharks.com website for our remaining meets.
Remember, Friday is "Friday Fun Day" so try to get up in the morning for Thursday's practice and we will have some "fun" on Friday morning.

See you at the pool,
