Timarron Tigershark "start-up" information

Tigershark Swimmers and Parents,

Our 2019 Tigershark Summer Swim season is ready to go!

I was by the Bent Creek Pool today and it looked GREAT!  The water is clear and inviting and it is a nice temperature, not too cold and not too hot.  I have heard we might get some rain this weekend, so we hope the water temperature holds well, especially for the 5 & 6 year olds.

***Speaking of the 5 & 6 year olds, Coach Murphy will be starting the season on the "little kids" side, testing ALL of the 5 & 6 year olds on the north side of the pool, to make sure they can swim safely to begin the season.  Parents, if it appears they are not ready for the swim team, don't panic, we will get them set with some lessons to catch up quickly and transfer the Tigershark payment to get the lessons done and get them ready to rejoin the Team asap.  So, parents of 5 & 6 year olds, please try to make arrangements to come to as many of the afternoon practices as possible in May, so we can "screen" your swimmers to make sure they are safe and ready to go.

I have attached our practice schedule and meet schedule for EVERYONE to review.  Remember, we practice in the afternoons for the next two weeks, then begin the morning practice schedule beginning Monday June 3rd.

FINS, FINS, FINS!  We use fins EVERY day at practice for stroke technique and speed.  #1  If you have your fins already, then put your name on them with permanent marker BEFORE you come to practice, so you can identify them and not lose them!        #2  If you do not have fins yet, make plans to get them....D & J Sports is our Team supplier.  They have a Kiosk/Shop in the Keller Natatorium located one block south of 1709 at Rufe Snow.  D & J is open from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm M-T-W-Th.  Also, there is another swim shop at the Carroll Aquatic Center that is open most weekday afternoons, that will also carry the correct type of fins..  You should get full-pocket rubber fins.  Do not get fins with an adjustable strap in the back.  They are impossible to keep adjusted, especially for the 8 & under swimmers.

***We will have the new 2019 Tigershark t-shirts at the afternoon practices next week.

We will do our very best to outfit everyone as quickly as possible, but although we have more than enough t-shirts, the number of younger swimmers and smaller sizes were greater than last year and greater than we anticipated, so we do expect to have to do a 2nd t-shirt order of the smaller sizes to get everyone the size they requested.

Our Tigershark coaching staff is ready to begin and we are excited to see all of the new and returning Tigershark swimmers and get this 2019 Summer season rolling.

Hopefully, the rain will hold off next week during our afternoon practice times and we can get things started off on a good foot.
